Brand Union commissioned Steven Noble back in 2007 to re-illustrate the new Kahlua label illustration for all their packaging labels that includes re-creating the new archway in the foreground to reflect more of the Mesoamerican (Aztec & Mayan) style of architectural accents as opposed to the original European style to help represent more of it’s original Mexican heritage. You can see more of those symbols hidden in the archway. In Addition, the village in the background was recomposed with the inclusion of the church, town and volcanic mountains.

The artwork was rendered in a line art style on scratchboard to match the original artwork.
